KATHLEEN MAE MENESES:  PROFILE

"I am Kathleen Mae Meneses, a 19-yr.old graduating marketing management student at DLSU-taft.  Writing has been my hobby since my freshman years at college and has grown to be a normal thing for me through all I have been experiencing in college. I have been keeping this journal of all my writings to hope that someday I can turn it into a book - like a collection of poems or something.

"I have been lead to this webpage to where I could sumbit some of my work. Iwould appreciate it if i could receive criticism about it.  I believe I am not a perfect writer.  I do have my own style but I still need a mentor."

"KAPIT SA BUHAY"
& "DREAM"

Kapit sa Buhay

Nakaukit ang buhay na parang isang laro
Isang larong walang katapusan
Tila bang walang ibang maaaring gawin
Sa mga landas na walang lagusan.

Parang kending walang lasa sa bibig
Paikot-ikot at walang magawa
Kung maari'y kagatin at ilunok
O idaan sa labi't iluwa.

Ngunit may dumarating na mga oras
may mga taong hindi mapaglihiman
Mga taong kumakagat sa iyong isip
At pinapaikot ang iyong kaalaman.

Matatandaan mo ba ang mga sinasabi ko?
Ang mga binulong na hikbi
Hikbing masaya at masakit
Na pinabayaang lumabas sa mga labi?

Maaalala mo sa tuwing sasapit ang gabi
Ang alok ng bitwin at tawag ng buwan
Ang buhay nating larong inukit
Mahahanap pa ba ng katapusan?

Dream

How strange can one stanger be
When all he has done is null
A stranger seen is a person seen
A person we cannot know not
And for those whom I recall
    Have always been dead
To me and my senses will fall
'Til all has come to thee
At night a stranger lingers
Searching for destiny
One could never me more strange
Than what I have found: me
Heartfelts for thee I do not keep
     For nightly I have dreamed
Of someone I know not of
Though frail, he holds my eve
While shadows graze upon my wall
I fear of what may come
To me at willing nights behold
The coming of thy Precious One
For how strange can one stranger be
When heartfelts for thee I do not keep
While shadows graze upon my eve
     Of thee I'll strangely dream.
